Sports TV host Katie Nolan has questioned whether Ben Affleck was on drugs during the actor's roast of Tom Brady on Netflix's comedy special from this past weekend. Nolan - a commentator for AppleTV+'s Friday Night baseball - moaned that Affleck never seems to enjoy anything sports related, despite the actor being a basketball fan, as shown in his movie 'The Way Back' and 'Air.' On Sunday, Affleck was on stage for seven-and-a-half-minutes to roast Brady but made little sense of the disses he had for the future Hall of Fame quarterback as he ranted and rambled about internet trolls. 'Can I ask, how come in sports TV we never get good Affleck? Anytime he does anything sports TV, we get ''Is he on drugs?''' Nolan said at first on 'The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz. 'Just like I'm bad at telling if someone has fake hair, I'm bad at telling if somebody is on drugs,' she continued. 'But he did give the energy of when you kind of get stuck talking to a guy late at a wedding and you don't realize until you get too into a conversation that, ''Oh, this guy's on coke.' Ben Affleck seemed incohesive at time during his seven-and-a-half-minute roast on Tom Brady
Sports host Katie Nolan suggested that Affleck is never at his best when it comes to sports talk
Affleck was previously called out in 2016 for his expletive-filled tirade against the NFL over Brady's Deflategate-related suspension, as he seemed incohesive on Bill Simmons' now-canceled 'Any Given Wednesday' HBO show. Nolan mentioned that on Monday as she further ripped into the 51-year-old, two-time Academy Award winner's appearance on the roast. 'Ben Affleck, come on, babe. Step up,' Nolan said. During the Netflix roast, Affleck slammed social media users who troll athletes as he explained that Brady had shown him offensive posts on X. He specifically mentioned one user 'Tallboyhenry' during his rant. 'Fans have your back,' Affleck said. 'You guys out there talking s**t, all right, behind your f**king keyboard, that doesn't make you a fan, that makes you a b***.' When asked about social media hints on Affleck not wanting to be at Brady's roast, Nolan said: 'OK, then stop coming, how about that? 'You're at the Tom Brady roast, you're like the representative of the fan. ... Like why was he coming at some ghost. I don't even know, was that Twitter person real? I doubt it. I doubt he was actually talking to a real Twitter person who tweeted at Tom Brady.' |
